Job Description
Union Stage Presents is seeking a highly skilled and organized Production Manager to join our team at The Howard Theatre. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of live shows and private events by managing all aspects of venue production, from technical operations to artist relations. A strong background in live sound, stage management, and event production paired with a passion for live music — is essential.
**minimum of one year live music production experience.
Responsibilities
Show & Event Advancement
Advance all shows and private events with artists, agents, and representatives.
Ensure all advance information is communicated to the correct departments.
Input accurate show details and requirements into OpenDate.
Technical & Equipment Oversight
Run sound for 4–5 shows per week.
Regularly check and maintain production equipment (PA, consoles, computers, mics, cables, power, lights, hazers, networks, etc.).
Coordinate backline rentals as needed.
Audit the production schedule with the Tech Director to ensure proper staffing.
Venue & Stage Management
Organize and maintain the production areas of the venue.
Oversee stage setup and strike for all events.
Ensure shows are properly staffed and production needs are met.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and effectively.
Team & Technician Support
Act as the main point of contact for artists and production staff.
Facilitate training for new hires and current technicians transitioning into new roles.
Be an available resource for technicians during shows; if unavailable, ensure proper escalation to the Tech Director.
Other Duties
Support the Tech Director and leadership team with production planning.
Assist with show cancellations, production changes, and other operational needs.
Perform additional tasks as required.
